EASME EMFF Information Day

Europe’s blue economy plays a crucial role in supporting coastal communities and in decarbonising our economy. The Commission's first economic reports on the blue economy in 2018 and 2019 shows that innovative and emerging maritime sectors, such as the blue bio-economy, and other sustainably managed ones, have a growth potential that can out-perform traditionally managed sectors and create new business opportunities and maritime jobs. However, a study to support investment in the blue economy conducted by the Commission shows that there are considerable funding gaps in scaling up promising projects from pilot to demonstration phase and to help Blue Economy SMEs and start-ups achieve the ‘next stage’ of business growth..

Ideas Forward joins today November 25, 2019, the EMFF information and brokerage event in Brussels. This Infoday will present funding opportunities available for SMEs under the new EMFF "Blue Economy Window" call for proposals with a budget of over 22M€. The call for proposals has been published on 21 November 2019 with a deadline for applications on 27 February 2020.
